There must be something special about any 18-year-old that is called by José Venancio to join Lobelle's starting team. This is what happened in 2003 to David Palmas Mato (Santiago de Compostela, 08/03/1986), one of the stars of the best generation of players produced by the Galician club's well-nurtured youth team. He became a minor star in the youth and affiliate teams, he passed the exam of being transferred for two seasons to Bilbao, and after a stint in the Silver Division, he returned home to be a part of the triumphs between 2008 and 2012. A cup of Spain, a Super Cup and several regional titles are the balance of an unforgettable stage in terms of emotions.

Close to reaching the age of 27, Palmas approaches his maturity as a player, the moment in which the defensive midfielders like him play their best. Maybe this influenced the complex decision he made last summer: leaving his town again, with no return ticket this time. Two other former Santiago players, Charlie y Rubi, joined him in his new adventure at Ríos Renovables de Navarra. He's discovering a new style of futsal there, away from the defensive priorities he learned in Compostela. Led by Pato, Palmas is working in a style much more oriented towards the attack, a new challenge he faces.
