In the first article, we began analysing the mechanics of tactical resources, the way in which these appear, and how they can be adapted to the demands of certain situations in a match, such as timing of play, spaces, and how the opponent generally scores its goals. As previously mentioned, these resources are closely related to the progression phase of a positional attack. It is the combination plays themselves that the players make in an attempt to attack the opponent that, due to the frequency with which they occur during play, we can stereotype, categorise and define according to an internal sort of logic. Thus, the combination plays can be analysed one by one to see how they can be adjusted to improve their effectiveness according to the real game situation at hand.
